5 Pound Rule

I've been on my weight loss journey for over 2 years. Have I lost weight every single week? Absolutely not. When there is a week I don't lose, I may even gain. But I have a 5 pound rule. If I ever gain 5 pounds, I go into active emergency mode and lower my calories daily until I lose it. If I gain less than 5 pounds, I don't get to excited because it could be water retention.

Losing weight and keeping it off requires a lifestyle change. What has kept me focused on reaching my goal is NEVER thinking I'm on a diet. I know I can have anything I want to eat and can still lose weight as long as I do it in moderation.

I also am convinced that losing weight requires being prepared mentally and taking one day at a time and setting small 10 pound goals.

I weigh every single morning to monitor my 5 pound rule and each Friday I record my weight on a special calender that I use for nothing else but keeping track of my weight.
