Diabetes and Dieting

A special hello to all my blogger friends. It's been almost a week since I've written on the blog, not because I've lost interest in this journey. But I've had a really rough week dealing with my diabetes.

I find myself for the first time since I was diagnosed with Diabetes struggling to regulate my diabetic medication. A lot of people think the worst thing for a diabetic is high blood sugar. In some ways it's the worst because of what it does to damage your body over the course of time. But when your blood sugar drops to low, it is impossible to function and can be very dangerous if your driving or in a place you can't quickly get something to eat with sugar in it to raise your blood sugar levels. Low blood sugar is what I struggled with all week and it has not a pleasant feeling.

When I started on this weight loss journey. My blood sugar on a daily basis was 250 and many days would spike to 300 and higher. I was taking 2400 mgs of oral medication and 100 units of insulin every day in an injection. So it goes without saying I was a severe diabetic. Did you notice "was" a severe diabetic.

This weight loss journey has completely changed my life, not only in my appearance but for the first time in over 13 years my diabetes is under control. I have cut my insulin intake by 75%, I'm down to 25 units a day. After this week, the news even gets better. Beginning today I am down to only 20 units and soon will be off insulin. Under doctor supervision when I have 3 or more sugar crashes in a week the doctor instructed me to drop my insulin by 5 units. With the weight loss and health benefits of SlimMax I need less medicine. Which is a wonderful thing but takes some time to learn how to regulate how much I should be taking.

From the very bottom of my heart, I know I could have never accomplished these goals without SlimMax. I'm  definitely not discipled and have struggled with being overweight for all of my adult life, truthfully more than over weight, as hard as it's to admit, I was obese. Actually, let's face it in medical terms, I'm still obese. I still have over 50 pounds to lose. But there is no doubt I will reach my goal.

If you or anyone you love suffers with diabetes please tell them about SlimMax. It helps to control appetite to aid in weight loss and it also stops cravings which helps to control blood sugar levels. Diabetes is a deadly disease but a silent killer. You can get on the road to a healthier lifestyle.
