WOW what a pretty sunshiny day! It feels more like an April spring morning than the first day of February.
I have missed all of my blogger friends the last few days! Our 7th grandchild made her grand entrance into the world on Sunday, so I have been busy helping out with her two big sisters which are 4 and 3, plus loving on our new beautiful bundle of joy.
Well today begins a new month and the second month of the new year. Do you know what the #1 New Years Resolution is? Yes, your right, to lose weight is #1 and quit smoking is #2.
How many people keep their New Years Resolutions? Recent research proves what most of us already know: the vast majority of us will not keep our resolutions. While 52% of all of the participants in a resolution study believed that they would accomplish their goals, only 12% actually achieved them. Interestingly, men achieved their goal 22% more often when they set small, measurable goals (lose a pound a week, rather than a vague amount of weight loss). Women succeeded 10% more often when they made their goals public and enlisted their friends to help keep them accountable.
My New Years Resolution was to lose 56.6 pounds by the end of 2012. As of this morning I am on track to reach my goal. I lost 4.6 pounds in January. The scales went up and down a pound or two through out the month so I happy with a final net loss. To be totally honest, I am slightly disappointed. I had hoped for 2 pounds a week but I will focus harder on that goal this month.
The one thing I have learned through out my weight loss journey is it's not a one day or one week challenge. It's a lifetime challenge. If you are serious about losing weight, getting much healthier and keeping the weight off. You must be mentally and emotional prepared to accept, you can't return to the bad eating habits which made you overweight to begin with.
The greatest thing about SlimMax is it allows me to eat the foods I enjoy and have always ate but in much smaller portions while feeling full and satisfied. I have never been on a diet of weird food which a lot of the fad diets require. I still eat cookie's, chips and even pizza. But I stop when I have consumed the calories I need for the day to continue losing weight.
You may have already gave up on your New Years Resolution but it is never to late to start over. Get back on track and make 2012 the year you put yourself on the road to better health!
Until Next Time ... Keep Smil'n
