Right Mind Set

Today it is cold, miserable and rainy. I would love to feel the nice warm sun beating down on my face for a change. So I have decided I am going to have a positive mind set  today and think about our vacation a few weeks a go to the Sunshine State. I still have a hint of my tan left so I will enjoy what is left of it.

Mind set is even important when you are trying to lose weight. Matter of fact I feel from the bottom of my heart it is one of the most important parts of setting the pace for consistent weight loss, especially if you have a lot of weight to lose. When I first stated on my weight loss journey I made a decision then not to dwell or even think about the amount of weight I had to lose. I take it 10 pounds at a time. Always rewarding myself with a special treat with each 10 pounds I lose.

Funny thing is when I first started my reward system it would be always be something to eat which I had missed eating. Now that has changed to something for myself, maybe a facial or a pedicure. As time passes food comes less important to you.

If you should fall off the wagon please DO NOT have the mind set ... oh dang, I messed up I might as well eat everything in site. I was the world's worse to do that. I would mess up and then I would think ahhh I might as well wait until after the weekend to get back on track (even it was only Tuesday). The weekend would come and go and I would not get back on track. Now if I mess up I think OK ... it is over, I enjoyed it, now I will eat something low in calories the rest of the day.
